Kids and families can experience history during Discovery Days at the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center, a hands-on educational program that blends science, art and local heritage.
The August edition of the free monthly event will focus on the Wright Brothers and the dawn of aviation. Visitors will have a chance to build their own model Wright Flyers and learn how the iconic early aircraft worked.
Discovery Days will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, and again 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the center, located at 13912 W. Camelback Road in Litchfield Park.
Hosted monthly, Discovery Days invites children and their families to explore different aspects of southwest Valley history through interactive activities. Each program highlights a unique topic through the lens of science and art, connecting young learners to the region’s past.
The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center is a cultural and educational hub dedicated to preserving the stories, people and industries that shaped the West Valley.
