Legacy Goodyear adds Pre-K program

Posted

Legacy Traditional Schools will expand its preschool and pre-kindergarten program to five additional campuses in Arizona, including Goodyear, beginning in the 2025–26 school year.

Enrollment for the new locations opens April 14, 2025. The Goodyear campus will join 16 other Legacy campuses across the state offering fee-based early learning programs.

“Legacy’s Pre-K programs are designed to give our youngest students the strongest possible start,” stated Superintendent Mia Vega. “Our approach blends academic structure with exploration-based learning in a nurturing, well-rounded environment that sets the foundation for future success.”

The curriculum is aligned with the Arizona Department of Education’s Early Learning Standards and includes instruction in early literacy, math, science, music, art and physical education. Lessons are delivered in a structured and engaging format that supports both cognitive and social-emotional development.

According to the school network, students who attended Legacy’s Pre-K program during the 2023–24 school year performed significantly higher on literacy and math assessments than peers who did not. Kindergarteners who participated in the program scored more than 20 percentile points higher on the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills assessment and exceeded their peers by over 10 percentile points on the Measures of Academic Progress math assessment.

Legacy Traditional Schools is a network of public charter schools serving students in Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
