Goodyear Vice Mayor Wally Campbell has been reappointed to three National League of Cities groups for 2025: the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee, the First Tier Suburbs Council and the Military Community Council.
Campbell, who has been involved with the National League of Cities since 2011, will serve another one-year term, working with local leaders nationwide to develop policies and initiatives benefiting communities with similar demographics and challenges.
“Appointment to these councils and committee is an honor,” said Campbell. “My previous involvement in the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee enabled me to assist our city in obtaining a $650,000 grant for Safe Streets and Roads for All. I look forward to continuing to work with (the National League of Cities) to protect the interest of Arizona and Goodyear as we propose best practices and policies for communities throughout the country."
As a member of the National League of Cities' committees, Campbell will contribute to discussions on infrastructure, transportation, suburban development and military community support.
The groups focus on fostering collaboration, sharing resources and developing programs that can be replicated in cities nationwide.
“(The National League of Cities') federal advocacy committees are vital for uplifting the voices and needs of America’s 19,000 cities, towns, and villages to decision-makers in Washington,” said National League of Cities President Steve Patterson, Mayor of Athens, Ohio. “I am excited to work with Vice Mayor Campbell this year to help strengthen the relationships between local and federal leaders.”
Campbell’s continued involvement with the National League of Cities ensures Goodyear has a voice in national policy discussions, helping shape initiatives that directly impact the city and beyond.
