CAPA was founded by West Valley Teen Events, a group of parents who sought to provide community events for homeschool students. The organization focuses on offering artistic and cultural opportunities to the Southwest Valley through theater performances and showcases.
"The Sound of Music" is a well-known musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers. Set during World War II, the story follows Maria Rainer, who becomes a governess to the seven children of Captain Von Trapp. Through music, she helps bring joy to the household before the family ultimately flees Nazi-occupied Austria.
CAPA works across the Southwest Valley to provide artistic and educational opportunities. The organization relies on support from board members, staff, interns, parents and volunteers to carry out its programs.
