Goodyear has become one of the top destinations for Baby Boomers relocating across the U.S., according to a recent analysis of Census Bureau data by SmartAsset.
The city ranked fifth nationally, with 3.09% of its total population — or 3,398 people — aged 55 to 74 moving to Goodyear in 2022.
The city’s growth in this demographic is partnered with presence of retirement communities such as PebbleCreek and CantaMia at Estrella. Baby Boomers now make up 21.99% of Goodyear’s population.
PebbleCreek is a 55+ retirement community that offers a range of amenities and services for residents. The community features more than 100 clubs and organizations, providing social and recreational opportunities. PebbleCreek includes high-end amenities such as fitness centers, swimming pools, and golf courses.
CantaMia at Estrella is a gated community for adults aged 55 and older. It offers a variety of amenities, including lakes, a dog park, bocce and tennis courts, and walking paths. The community’s Village Center features swimming pools, pickleball courts, a wellness center, and a social café.
The development of these retirement communities reflects Goodyear’s appeal to older adults seeking an active lifestyle in a suburban setting.
