The Goodyear Police Department is hosting its National Night Out event 5 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative aimed at building partnerships between police and the community. The event will be held at the Goodyear Recreation Center, at 420 S. Estrella Parkway,
Established in 1984, National Night Out is an annual campaign designed to enhance police-community relations and increase awareness of crime prevention efforts. The event encourages communities across the United States to host activities that promote engagement between residents and local law enforcement.
Goodyear’s National Night Out celebration is a free, family-friendly gathering. It will include public safety demonstrations, interactive activities for children, and a variety of food trucks and local food vendors. A helicopter is scheduled to land at 5:30 p.m., and there will be K-9 demonstrations.
National Night Out provides community members the opportunity to connect with local law enforcement, learn about public safety strategies, and discuss ways to foster a safer environment.
