The City of Goodyear is preparing to launch its 2025 recreational swim season, which runs from June 2 through July 19. The program features four youth swim teams for ages 5 to 15, with practices held Monday through Thursday and swim meets scheduled for Friday evenings.

The four teams: Mako Sharks, Hammerheads, Great White Sharks and Tiger Sharks; will practice at the Loma Linda Pool, 430 E. Loma Linda Blvd., and the Goodyear Aquatic Center, 420 S. Estrella Parkway. Morning or evening practice times are determined by team and age group and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Specific schedules and updates will be shared with participants through the TeamSnap platform.

Registration opens in phases:

  • Returning Goodyear residents may register beginning April 14 at 7 a.m. online or in person.
  • New Goodyear residents may register starting April 18 at 7 a.m.
  • Non-residents can register beginning May 2, subject to space availability.

The cost is &80 for Goodyear residents and $95 for non-residents. A multi-child discount is available for Goodyear residents using the following promo codes during checkout:

  • ST252 for two children
  • ST253 for three children
  • ST254 for four or more children

Each swimmer will receive a team swimsuit, swim cap and T-shirt.

Mandatory parent meetings will be held at the Goodyear Recreation Campus (GRC), with the Tiger Shark and Great White teams meeting May 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and the Mako and Hammerhead teams meeting May 13 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Meetings will include information on schedules, TeamSnap, and swim tests for participants age 10 and under.

Swim meets will be held Friday evenings starting June 6, with no meet scheduled for July 4. The season concludes with a final meet for swimmers 10 and under on July 18, and for those 11 and older on Saturday, July 19.
