Georgia T. Lord library hosts Goodyear’s water conservation coordinator for a workshop on Saturday, Aug. 17

The Georgia T. Lord Library is offering a watering workshop for adults 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 17, in the community room at 1900 N. Civic Square.
The session, led by Andrew Pirrone, Goodyear’s water conservation coordinator, will focus on methods to design and maintain landscapes that require minimal water use. Participants will learn practical techniques to create water-efficient landscapes, which can help reduce the demand on local water supplies and support sustainable practices.
Workshop members can expect topics like selecting drought tolerant plants, designing an irrigation system and mulching practices that maximize how long water lasts before evaporation.
This workshop is a series of adult learning activities brought by the Georgia T. Lord library to engage and educate community members.
