Goodyear’s Georgia T. Lord Library will host Sound Healing Meditation sessions led by Kari Levine Sept. 6. The sessions will take place in the Community Room at 1900 N. Civic Square, with the first session running from 2 to 2:30 p.m. and the second from 2:40 to 3:10 p.m.
Levine will lead participants through a guided experience featuring gong, crystal bowls, medicine drum, sacred songs and other instruments. The sessions aim to help attendees achieve a deep state of relaxation and self-discovery. Levine, who holds a master’s degree in sociology, combines elements of modern science with various spiritual practices.
This type of music therapy aims to promote relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety. The method has been used in across cultures for centuries.
Levine’s background includes yoga, meditation and exploration of sacred plant medicine. The sessions are open to the public.
