The Goodyear Recreation Campus will host "Chalk Art in the Park" on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event invites professional artists, families, and community members to create chalk art.
Participants can express their creativity on the park's sidewalks, with designated areas for professional artists, community families, and high school teams.
Professional artists will have the opportunity to create an 8ft x 8ft artwork, while community squares measuring 3ft x 3ft will be available for families and beginner artists. High school teams can also participate in the High School Cup Challenge.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of food options from local food trucks, including Tacos Mesquite, Jons Jons BBQ, Zombie Brew, Mobile Pizza Company, and Nawtical Bowls. A live DJ will provide music throughout the event.
The Arts and Culture Division of Goodyear is organizing this event to promote community engagement and highlight the role of art in public spaces.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own preferred art supplies, though chalk will be provided. The event will feature suggested themes for artists or allow for free expression.
