The Georgia T. Lord Library is celebrating National Library Week April 6-12 with hands-on creative and educational programs inspired by this year’s theme, “Drawn to the Library.”
The library will host a STEAM Lab: Tissue Paper Hot Air Balloon workshop 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, for children ages 8 and up. Participants will design and test their own tissue paper hot air balloons while learning about the science behind them. Children ages 8-10 must have an adult helper.
Teens ages 12-18 can take part in a “crafternoon,” session 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, where they can create their own air-dry clay art pieces.
National Library Week is organized by the American Library Association and recognizes the role of libraries as creative and community-focused spaces.
