Abrazo West Campus welcomes a new hybrid operating room.

Abrazo West Campus has completed construction on a new hybrid operating room, a nearly $7 million facility designed to support a range of complex cardiovascular and vascular procedures.
The hybrid OR combines the sterile environment of a traditional operating room with the capabilities of a cardiac catheterization lab. According to the hospital, it will allow surgeons to perform both minimally invasive and open procedures in a single space.
“The hybrid OR will enable us to tailor our treatment plans for patients who may not otherwise have successful outcomes,” said Stacey Hancock, DO, a board-certified vascular surgeon with Abrazo West.
A feature of the new space is the Azurion 7 M20 with FlexArm, a ceiling-mounted imaging system made by Philips Healthcare. The system’s C-arm rotates on eight axes, allowing imaging from head to toe and from both sides of the patient, in both 2-D and 3-D formats.
“The new hybrid OR is yet another example of how we are meeting our commitment to invest in quality, high acuity care that West Valley residents can access where they live, without having to travel out of the area for these kinds of complex surgical procedures,” said Hans Driessnack, Abrazo West Campus CEO.
Patient procedures are scheduled to begin in August. Abrazo West Campus is located at 13677 W. McDowell Road in Goodyear.
