Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center has been awarded the 2024 Lantern Award by the Emergency Nurses Association, recognizing it as one of only 94 emergency departments nationwide to receive the award.
The Lantern Award highlights emergency departments that excel in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. It is sent out after an application process to ENA where they then select departments that reflect their mission to advance excellence in emergency nursing, emphasizing collaboration, diversity and improvement in emergency care.
“We are proud of all the team members at our Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Department and grateful for their dedication to our patients,” said Hans Driessnack, CEO of Abrazo West Campus. “This award acknowledges our nurses’ expertise in providing high-quality care and highlights leadership that fosters engagement and innovative solutions through teamwork and commitment to the community.”
The Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center, a 14-bed facility, serves nearly 30,000 patients annually in southwest Arizona. The Abrazo Buckeye staff specializes in a variety of fields, serving patients through well-child care and childhood diseases, immunizations, sports and school physicals, diabetes care, hypertension management, chronic and acute adult illnesses and wellness checkups.
