South Chandler sports / entertainment bar and restaurant closed

Off 87opened with local officials at a ribbon cutting nearly a year ago, but it’s closed already.

The sports and live entertainment focused bar and grill took over the former Ginger Monkey building in a center on the southwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Road in south Chandler.

The 6,600-square-foot restaurant, bar, and live music venue was run by former Arizona Diamondbacks pitching coach Mike Butcher and his wife, Tami.

Th e couple didn’t give a reason for the closure but appear to be continuing with their Pizza Butcher food truck, found on Facebook as “The Pizza Butcher23.”

BLD owner Jackson Armstrong partnered with Butcher as co-owner of the Ginger Monkey, which  preceded Off87 in the same spot.
