Chandler's free Diwali celebration is Saturday, Nov. 7

Posted

The city of Chandler’s Connection & Impact Division is celebrating light, hope, unity and community at "Diwali: Festival of Lights"

That's a free community event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7 in the Chandler City Hall Courtyard, 175 S. Arizona Ave.

As one of the most popular festivals in Hinduism, Diwali includes delicious food and live performances. There will be cultural tabling at this event as well.

Food will be provided by ISKCON Phoenix, featuring traditional Indian fare.

Explore vendors and cultural tables and take part in interactive activities, including a hands-on art experience from Chandler Museum that showcases the traditions and customs of Diwali.

Commemorate the day with a free photo booth. Various city departments will also be there to educate attendees on programs and services.
