Simon Marstokk and Michelle Schwartz are looking to build an attached accessory dwelling unit for their home to add more space for guests but on Aug. 26 at the Tempe Board of Adjustment meeting, the motion to approve the extension was denied.
Schartz and Marstokk reached out to 75 households to answer questions about these changes and brought concerns to the meeting.
The home is at 1706 E. Citation Lane near Elliot Road in South Tempe and located in the Sunburst Farms neighborhood, part of Corona and South Tempe with roughly 74 homes.
