Fitch Ratings, one of the “Big Three” nationally recognized credit rating agencies, has affirmed the AAA rating on the city of Surprise’s issuer default rating and Fitch-rated general obligation bonds and pledged revenue bonds.
Fitch also issued a rating outlook of stable.
City officials said the AAA rating reflects the city’s strong financial position, responsible fiscal management and long-term planning. It also helps the city obtain favorable borrowing terms and reduces financing costs for major capital investments.
