Arizona’s population of Hispanic or Latino heritage is 32.5% — nearly one-third, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. President Lyndon B. Johnson established Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 and 20 years later President Ronald Reagan expanded it to 30 days, Sept. 15-Oct. 15. It is recognized annually with an ever-growing array of parades, festivals and celebrations for the public. It also is deeply personal for so many Arizonans. What about the history, culture, arts and cuisine resonates with you and your family?
