A word to the wise in Sun City: Don’t bother attending the RCSC Member Exchange meetings anymore because apparently nothing you say is listened to by the new management regime.
A perfect example would be the last meeting where several residents questioned management’s decision to remove the remote controls of the fans in all the Sun City Fitness Centers. When asked why the remotes were removed, the answer given was that there had been too many problems with the remotes breaking and going missing. Why that lead to the decision to turn all the fans on and leave them all running was not explained.
Several residents commented on the difficulty they had with all the fans being on – from being too cold (which could cause muscle damage if you try to work cold muscles) to having dry eye issues and even concerns over the effects of the temperature on those of us with heart issues, which, by the way, was commented on by two health care professionals who explained how it could be dangerous. Suggestions that management at least turn some of the fans off so that residents with issues would have a choice of what machines to use were just ignored.
So, if you have any health problems that might be affected by the new fan policy, be careful. And if you are upset by the total disregard for our health and well-being that this decision demonstrates, you might try letting management know. Of course, given the response so far, don’t hold your breath thinking they’ll listen!
