There was no shortage of ceremony at the Aug. 4 Sun City Posse monthly meeting, where new volunteers were welcomed and active members were honored before leaders unveiled plans for a permanent tribute to the organization's military veterans.
One of the evening's highlights came when three new Posse members — Mary Back, Edward Reiss and Debra Leef — were sworn in by two former commanders in a first for the organization.
Former Posse commanders Marge Paulding, who served in 2010, and Art Jenkins, commander in 2013, administered the oath after being introduced by Posse Cmdr. Arlene Kluizenaar.
