The Sun City Host Lions Club is teaming up with Women4Women to bring important feminine products to those in need. Volunteers will set up shop 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Sun City Lions Foundation, 9451 N. 99th Ave., to hand out pads, tampons, panty liners, feminine wipes and other necessities.
Debbie Bushey said this event started around six years ago when someone brought her the idea. The first year, there were around 12 volunteers. Last year, that number was up to around 30.
“Knowing there are so many women worldwide in other countries that don’t have access to these products, it makes me feel good to know that we’re serving our community and beyond by doing this,” she said.
