The Mesa City Council voted 7-0 to approve a $117,100 dollar-limit increase to a contract for custodial services for city facilities at their Sept. 8 meeting.
The contract with Building Maintenance Services LLC dba Pivot Building Services goes from $848,000 to $965,100 annually, according to council documents.
The contract also has an annual increase allowance of up to 5% or the adjusted consumer price index. The council documents also stated that a dollar increase was needed due to the addition of the Northeast Public Safety Facility and the Gene Autry Clubhouse.
“This contract provides custodial services such as cleaning offices, restrooms and common areas; waste management; restocking supplies; and providing specialized cleaning services for approximately 68 city facilities,” the council documents stated. “This contract ensures consistent upkeep, compliance with health and safety standards, and enhances the usability and aesthetics of city-owned properties.”
The contract was originally awarded on Jan. 27, 2025, and is termed for three years with a two-year renewal option. The contract is funded by the facilities maintenance operating budget.
