Several Gilbert Public Schools elementary campuses have been recognized among Arizona's highest-performing schools in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Elementary Schools rankings.
Neely Traditional Academy ranked No. 10 in Arizona, while Patterson Elementary placed No. 40. Ashland Ranch Elementary and Canyon Rim Elementary also were recognized among the state's top-performing elementary schools based on measures that include academic achievement and proficiency in math and reading.
The annual rankings evaluate public elementary schools using data related to student performance on state assessments and other academic indicators.
Superintendent Jared Ryan said the recognition reflects the efforts of teachers, administrators, support staff, students and families throughout the district.
U.S. News & World Report bases its rankings on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education, including student proficiency in math and reading compared with state averages and other performance metrics.
In addition to the elementary school honors, Gilbert Public Schools noted that Gilbert Classical Academy continues to receive recognition in state and national rankings and that the district maintains A ratings from the Arizona Department of Education.
