Donation drives
Residents can donate toys, gift cards and other items at local events and collection sites.
The Gilbert Police Department is collecting gift cards, toys, children’s clothing with tags and gift-wrapping supplies through Dec. 13 as part of its Blue Line of Love Holiday Drive.
Donations can be dropped off at designated locations or during Photos with Santa from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at the police department.
Volunteer opportunities
Residents can donate time to local organizations that support youth, seniors and families. Opportunities range from a few hours to full-day commitments. Details are available on the town’s volunteer webpage.
Adopt a youth or family
Residents can purchase items from wish lists for local youth, seniors or families through nonprofit partners. Donations are made anonymously to preserve the spirit of the season.
Shop for a cause
Purchases at the Gilbert Town Store benefit Neighbor 2 Neighbor, which funds nonprofits providing essential services to residents. Items include ornaments, apparel and mugs.
The Light the World Giving Machine at Gilbert Water Tower Plaza offers another option. Through Dec. 31, visitors can buy items such as groceries, medical care and educational supplies to support local and global charities.
