Gilbert Fire & Rescue opens 2026 firefighter recruit applications

Gilbert Fire and Rescue is accepting applications for its next academy.

Gilbert Fire & Rescue has opened applications for its 2026 Firefighter Recruit Program, giving prospective firefighters the chance to attend a paid recruit academy and earn required certifications before joining suppression crews.

Applications opened Feb. 9 and close March 2 at 5 p.m.

According to the department, the program supports its mission of strong emergency response, public safety and community education.
