The Town of Gilbert is accepting applications for two positions on the Gilbert Public Facilities Municipal Property Corporation. Current incumbents may reapply for the openings.
Municipal property corporations serve as financing mechanisms for certain capital improvement projects. Historically, the corporations have been used to help finance growth-related projects, with a significant portion of debt service supported by system development fees.
Responsibilities can vary substantially from year to year. In years without bond sales, the corporation may meet only once to review annual finances. When bond sales are anticipated, members may be required to take a more active role in reviewing and approving financing-related matters.
Town officials say ideal candidates should be comfortable with periods of limited activity while remaining prepared to engage when needed. Applicants should be able to understand moderately complex financial statements, analyze detailed information and work collaboratively with fellow members and town staff.
Members must reside within Gilbert and be qualified electors. Terms are typically three years. The positions are volunteer and unpaid, and the corporation generally meets annually or as needed.
Candidates selected to advance in the process will be required to complete a one-way video interview.
Applications must be submitted by 7 a.m. Nov. 2. Residents may apply online through the town's application portal or request a paper application through the Gilbert Clerk's Office.
