Volunteers are involved in multiple roles on GPS campuses, as Parent Teacher Organization presidents, Watch D.O.G. role models, classroom event organizers, athletic booster members and more.
VNET plays a role in supporting all of these GPS volunteers, ensuring that the PTOs and boosters have the necessary training to be successful.
The Expo took place Aug. 16 at Highland High with 460 volunteers registered to attend. Volunteers wore their school-branded t-shirts. Subjects covered included:
Booster fundraising;
Unlocking volunteers potential;
First year of being a volunteer board member;
PTO finance;
And more.
The public is invited to nominate a volunteer for the Sheila Uggetti Volunteer of the Year Award, as part of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Community Excellence Awards here.
