A newly released study shows Chandler has among the lowest effective property tax rates in the nation in a survey involving about 650 U.S. cities.
Chandler’s effective property tax rate of 0.385% for owner-occupied homes ranks 640th among the 651 cities surveyed.
The data used in this analysis is from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey. To determine the locations with the highest property taxes, researchers at Construction Coverage calculated the effective property tax rate for owner-occupied homes by dividing the aggregate annual real estate taxes paid by the aggregate value of housing units.
