Chandler moving forward with long-planned park

Once again, the Chandler Council is trying to move forward with a project that’s been in the works longer than a few city staff have been alive.

Council unanimously approved a $ 4.73 million contract, at its March 27 meeting, with J2 Engineering to design Mesquite Groves Park. The planned 90-acre, multi-phase park is set to have some of everything, ranging from a dog park to a cricket pitch.

Excitement seems high for the project, as it will not only be in an underserved southeast corner of the city, but will also have features either not found or rarely placed in the East Valley.
