Chandler: More celebrations of Jazz Appreciation Month

Chandler celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month every April with performances by musicians throughout the city.

Events included the Chandler Jazz Festival, held the first weekend of April, but more events are scheduled throughout the month.

Jazz on the Move, Young Artist Jazz Showcase and events at the Chandler Center for the Arts and Chandler Public Library. Visit Chandler Jazz Appreciation Month for a complete schedule of events.

Jazz on the Move is a concert series that brings live music into Chandler neighborhoods. These Tuesday- and Thursday-evening performances are from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Performances are Thursday, April 10, when the The Charlie Smith Trio will be at The Park at Copper Creek, 901 S. 94th St.; Tuesday, April 15, when Delphine Cortez with Joel Robin and Friends area at Sunset Park, 4930 W. Ray Road and Thursday, April 24, when BossaNova 77 plays at Veterans Oasis Park, 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road.

The Young Artist Jazz Showcase allows student musicians to perform for a live audience.

These performances are Monday, April 14, when The Aiden Oh Quartet is at the Basha Library, 5990 S. Val Vista Drive, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, April 23, when the Dylan Ha Quartet is at the Chandler Downtown Library, 22. S. Delaware Street,  from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.;  Monday, April 28, when the Jason Torres Quartet is at the Chandler Community Center, 175 E. Commonwealth Ave., from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, April 30, when the Max Strong Quartet is at the Basha Library from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
