A Sun City West church is back to operating a food pantry and soup meal one day a week. The “Soups On” ministry of Church on the Green, 19051 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd., previously known as “The Soup Kitchen,” is now open Thursdays through May 2027.
“Soups On” provides a soup lunch in the church’s dining room 10:30 a.m.-noon at no cost. Chef Kathy Spinelli arrives at the church commercial kitchen to start cooking the meal at 2:30 a.m. Then she is joined by volunteers to begin preparing to serve individuals as they walk in for the meal.
Each person gets soup, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage.
