Sun City sculptor finds Southwest inspiration

Sun City resident David Knorr said he’s been a “maker” his entire life. He remembers being as young as 5 years old making sculptures in his dad’s shop while he sketched and built houses.

Now, after work got in the way of doing what he loves, he’s been fully dedicated to making art.

“It’s just fun,” Knorr said. “I enjoy the heck out of it. I’ll make a piece and as it’s going through the process, I’m sketching more and coming up with new ideas. I’m always thinking, always planning, always doing something to escalate my next sculpture I’m going to build.”
