The Friends of the Sun City Libraries were surprised to learn March 28 that the Recreation Centers of Sun City management staff and board of directors are considering closing the facilities at the Bell and Fairway recreation centers.
“We were shocked to learn just yesterday that discussions have been occurring on this issue for the past two months, yet they have not informed the Friends of the Sun City Libraries or the residents of Sun City,” said Sue Blechl, president of FSCL’s board of directors.
Joelyn Higgins, RCSC communications and marketing coordinator, declined to comment on the issue.
