The Palo Verde Artists Club has named Janice Rouen-Lydon as its November artist of the month. Rouen-Lydon has always enjoyed painting. She attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she studied under Irvin Shapiro and many other artists before working as a commercial artist.
Rouen-Lydon has exhibited in galleries in Illinois and Arizona and has many paintings in private collections. She paints in oil and acrylic, though watercolor is her favorite medium.
As a member of the Society of Decorative Painters, she entered a Christmas ornament for the White House Blue Room tree and was invited by the first lady for a reception in 2004 to review the official tree.
