Brown: Golf courses should be open to all
Posted
Regarding dog walking on the golf course.
Our golf courses make affordable living in the desert possible. They must be protected. I have an easy answer to the dilemma. Golfers only during play hours. Everyone else can use the paths after sunset, including dogs on leashes.
The hygiene excuse doesn’t “hold water.” What about the coyotes and Canada geese? Worse yet, the golfers who urinate behind the pump house bushes. So many do that there are signs posted against it. Are they going to be reported, photographed and prosecuted?
What slippery slope was the author talking about? The golfers allowing any plebs the enjoyment of their golfing totalitarian rule? The golf course management is totally unfair and should be open to all Sun City residents within rules and limits.
