Special Olympics of Arizona, headquartered in Goodyear, received a $2,500 grant as part of a charitable giving effort from Cox employees who raised a total of $608,708 to nonprofits across the state.

The charitable giving program raised funds for 126 Arizona nonprofits.

Two of the biggest recipients were Joy Bus Diner which received $47,067 and #LoveUp Foundation, which received $21,781.

This marks the 26th year that Cox employees, through Cox Charities, have raised funds. Since 1996, Cox Arizona employees have raised $9.7 million and awarded grants to 1,719 local Arizona nonprofits.

“I am immensely proud of our Cox employees who are great at their jobs and so committed to helping local nonprofits deliver vital services in our community,” said Percy Kirk, senior VP and region manager for Cox Arizona. “This year, Cox employees raised nearly $40,000 more than last year for distribution in this 2022 grant cycle.”

Special Olympics Arizona has over 21,000 athletes participating across the state, and nearly 25,000 volunteers.
