A newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter in Mesa will include grants to local nonprofits and a new mural painted by a local artist.

The Mesa at 1710 S. Greenfield Road will host a re-grand opening celebration at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26.

The celebration will include an inflatable football toss, field goal carnival game, raffle, and samples from local vendors such as Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull, Nestle, Milo's Tea and more. Guests can also grab snacks from a hot dog truck.

The Mesa High School band and Color Guard will perform.

Walmart will present $1,000 in grants apiece to the United Food Bank and the Mesa High School Band:

The Supercenter’s new mural, designed and illustrated by artist, Tony Plak, reflects the diversity and local culture of Mesa, according to the press release, and is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, the largest public-facing art installation celebrating communities across America.
