SPOKANE, Wash. — The Arizona Rattlers took advantage of four Spokane Shock turnovers to claim an important 30-20 win on Friday night at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
Rattlers quarterback and IFL MVP candidate Drew Powell scored four TDs in the game, three on the ground, as Arizona battled back from an early 10-0 deficit to score 20 straight points later in the game to take control.
Arizona defensive back Dillion Winfrey followed up a three-interception performance with two more on Friday. He leads the league in the category.
Tyrell Pearson also registered an INT while Nik D’Avanzo had a blocked field goal.
Powell’s lone TD pass of the night went to Jarrod Harrington from 13 yards out.
The win moves league-leading Arizona to 11-2 on the year with one regular-season game left.
Spokane finished its regular season at 6-6 and will be in the playoffs.
The Rattlers return home for a huge matchup with second-place Frisco (9-2) on Saturday, Aug. 21. The game is likely to determine home-field advantage in the IFL playoffs. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. at the Footprint Center.
