Phoenix detectives have arrested 36-year-old Denisse Rodriguez-Cardenas after their investigation led to identifying her as the driver in a hit-and-run collision that led to the death of Angelica Pesqueira-Corrales, 41, police said  Sunday.

Officers arrived at the collision location about 6 p.m. Feb. 26 and found the victim with serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital but did not survive.

Preliminary information suggests the vehicle involved was heading west on Maricopa Street when it struck the woman, police stated in an earlier release. The driver drove from the scene of the crash.
