Crews will be performing pavement preservation projects on several roadways in Surprise during October.
These mill and overlay projects will occur from Oct. 3 through 26, and crews will work in the areas during the daytime and night.
These projects are done to help lengthen the life of the street surface and help improve the ride quality for our residents and visitors.
During these projects, drivers can expect some lane closures and minor delays.
The schedule below provides dates and areas where lane restrictions will occur, unless otherwise noted:
- Sarival Avenue (Cactus Road to Peoria Avenue): Oct. 3, 5-6, 10, 13-14. Full closure on October 5 from Cactus to Jenan Drive, 9 a.m. to noon.
- El Mirage Road (Bell Road to Paradise Lane): Oct. 4-5, 7, 12, 17-18
- El Mirage Road (Paradise Lane to Greenway Road): Oct. 4, 6, 10, 12, 17-18
- Statler Boulevard (Litchfield Road to WestPoint Parkway): Oct. 8, 10-11, 13, 19-20
- Litchfield Road (Elm Street to south side of the Greenway Road intersection): Oct. 12-13, 17-18, 20, 25-26.
Mill and overlay projects require milling down the existing roadway 1-2 inches and installing new asphalt surface.
This extends the life of the road and avoids a complete removal and replacement.
