Overheated forklift battery fumes hospitalize 15 at Goodyear logistics facility

Fifteen people were transported to the hospital for treatment after fire crews responded to a warehouse toxic exposure incident in Goodyear Thursday.

Fire crews from Goodyear, Avondale, and Phoenix were dispatched to a Quetico logistics facility near the northeast corner of Yuma Road and 143rd Avenue in Goodyear after employees reported an unknown odor affecting their respiratory health.

Fire crews were advised by an employee of an unknown odor coming from a forklift battery inside the warehouse.
