A new CNN/SSRS poll out Wednesday aimed at measuring presidential support through swing states also showed Arizona voters polled were largely in favor of a constitutional amendment aimed at protecting abortion rights.
The poll found 62% of those asked were in favor of amending the state's constitution to allow a fundamental right to abortion. About 35% were against the measure, and 2% had no opinion.
Proposition 139 would amend the state's constitution to allow abortions until the point of fetal viability, generally considered about 24 weeks. That would be a change from current state law, which currently bans abortion after 15 weeks.
Prop. 139 also would allow abortions after that time for medical conditions or if the health of the mother is threatened.
The poll also took stock of the U.S. Senate race for the open seat in Arizona finding Democrat Ruben Gallego at 47% of those polled and Republican Kari Lake at 44%.
In the presidential race, former President Donald Trump was at 49% with Vice President Kamala Harris at 44%.
The poll surveyed 682 people in Arizona with a margin of error of 4.8%. For a look at the complete poll results, click here.
