Mesa police are investigating the death of a married couple following a shooting Tuesday at an apartment complex.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, police identified the victims as Ronnie Lazalde, 48, and Natishia Lazalde, 41.

The shooting occurred at about 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, near Main Street and Power Road, police said.

Several 911 calls came into the Mesa Police Department about shots being fired at the apartment complex.

Officers found the couple under a stairwell. Each had gunshot wounds.

Ronnie Lazalde was pronounced dead at the scene. Natishia Lazalde was given emergency first aid and taken to a hospital where she died Wednesday morning.

Detectives working on the case believe it to be an isolated incident, authorities said.
