OrthoArizona has added Dr. Mario A. Taylor, M.D. to its spine service line. Taylor will serve patients out of OrthoArizona’s South Gilbert, Chandler Village and Queen Creek locations.
Taylor attended medical school at Howard University, and then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington. He furthered his training with a fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery at the University of San Diego.
He has interest in a myriad of conditions, including but not limited to spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, low back pain, spinal deformity, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, disc herniations, and failed back syndrome. Taylor also has training in traditional open spine surgeries, as well as minimally invasive procedures, including fusion, motion-sparing and percutaneous techniques in adult patients.
Identified as an up-and-coming orthopedic doctor by several organizations, Taylor earned a spot in the American Orthopaedic Association’s Emerging Leaders Program. As a part of the program, he was able to network with some of the top orthopedic surgeons in the U.S. and Canada, complete exclusive leadership courses and serve in leadership positions within the AOA.
Taylor already has several published research articles, including work on floating cervical spine injuries and has lectured across the nation to healthcare providers on various topics involving orthopedics, including on fracture patterns in multiligamentous knee injuries, thumb CMC arthroplasty and more.
