A 35-year-old man is in jail and facing a second-degree murder charge in his wife’s death, Phoenix police said.
At about 12 a.m. Sept. 9, officers were called to a stabbing in the parking lot of a business near Cave Creek and Thunderbird roads and found a woman with multiple wounds. Aliccia Grant, 37, was taken to a hospital where she died, police stated in a release.
Officers received information indicating the suspect was Grant’s husband, 35-year-old Stephen Dennis, according to the release.
During an investigation, “a 911 call was received from Dennis, where he admitted to stabbing Grant and gave 911 operators his location,” police said.
Dennis was taken into custody.
Officers found a knife in the area of the stabbing that police said is believed to be the weapon used in the killing, according to the release.
Dennis was interviewed by detectives and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
