The Grand Canyon Institute has announced it will release an independent policy analysis on April 17 of the Arizona Coyotes arena and music venue, the main economic drivers of the proposed Tempe Entertainment District.
As the May election approaches, more community voices are coming out with their positions on the Tempe Entertainment District that will be approved with Propositions 301, 302 and 303.
According to a press release, the Grand Canyon Institute, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, is a centrist think tank led by a bipartisan group of former state lawmakers, economists, community leaders and academicians.
Its analysis of the development considers:
How the arena would create challenges for effective use rates of the Footprint Center and Gila River Arena for Phoenix and Glendale, respectively,
The economic impact of the arena and music venue and the cost-effectiveness of the subsidies committed by the city of Tempe,
How the proposed Tempe Entertainment District with the arena compares with possible alternative uses for the land.
The analysis will be made available on Monday, April 17 at 6 a.m. MST on GCI's online Research Library
