With 119 days before the general election, the candidate field appears to be set for two seats that will open on the Deer Valley Unified School District governing board.
Monday marked the deadline to file election documents with the Maricopa County School Superintendent’s office. Unlike statements of interests, filing election documents is a formal declaration of candidacy.
Deer Valley Unified terms expire at the end of this year for current board President Paul Carver as well as for Stephanie Simacek. Simacek has said she won’t seek reelection, although she is up for reelection for her seat representing Legislative District 2 in the Arizona House.
