Early results from Election Night on Tuesday show a tight race for two open seats on the Deer Valley Unified School District governing board.
According to preliminary numbers from Maricopa County Elections, with just over 67,000 ballots cast, newcomers Julie Stockwell (29.4%) and Kristi Cooper (28.8%) lead in the early going, with current board president Paul Carver (27.4%) trailing close behind. David Alvarado is showing 14.4% of the vote.
Carver has been serving on the board since 2023. Fellow board member Stephanie Simacek, whose term also expires this year, opted not to run for reelection.
