ELECTION 2026

Incumbent won’t seek Deer Valley Unified board reelection

Stephanie Simacek’s district term ends later this year, but she will look to keep her Arizona House seat

One incumbent in this year’s race for two open seats on the Deer Valley Unified School District governing board will not seek reelection.

Stephanie Simacek confirmed that she won’t look to keep her seat when her four-year term expires. She was the leading vote getter in the 2022 Deer Valley Unified governing board election cycle.

She is, however, seeking reelection to her seat representing Legislative District 2 in the Arizona House. Simacek won the two-year term in 2024 by fewer than 1,000 votes, which held up in an automatic recount. Under state law, recounts must be conducted in races where the margin is within 0.5%.
