This week candidates for two Deer Valley Unified School District governing board seats will begin to file their election documents.
Terms expire at the end of this year for current board President Paul Carver as well as for Stephanie Simacek. Simacek has said she won’t seek reelection, although she is up for reelection for her seat representing Legislative District 2 in the Arizona House.
Carver has indicated he will seek reelection. He is among a field of four residents who have filed statements of interest to run, although filing statements does not automatically qualify a resident as a candidate. Also filing are David Alvarado, Kristi Cooper, and Julie Stockwell. All, including Carver, are Phoenix residents.
